2018-2019 Gender-based analysis plus

Gender-based analysis plus (GBA+)

Governance Structures

GBA+ considerations are discussed and application is determined by the Board’s executive team, which is the main decision-making body for the organization. The Board has also established an Inclusion Committee to promote the values and practices of a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Human resources

During the reporting period, the Board continued to allocate temporary resources to develop its capacity in GBA+.

Commencing in 2019-20, the Board will dedicate one-half of a full-time equivalent position to GBA+.
Major initiatives: results achieved

During the reporting period, the Board established an Inclusion Committee to promote the values and practices of a diverse and inclusive workplace. Employees completed GBA+ training in order to enhance the responsiveness, effectiveness and outcomes of Board initiatives. The Board also participated in the Veterans Affairs Canada GBA+ network which has the goal of raising awareness and disseminating tools and best practices.

As more work is done on GBA+ within VRAB, the level of analysis and monitoring will become more robust to ensure that gender and diversity are considered within its program, policies and in its delivery.
