Gender-based analysis plus (GBA+)
Governance Structures |
GBA+ considerations are discussed and application is determined by the Veterans Review and Appeal Board’s (VRAB, the Board) executive team. The Board has also established a Diversity and Inclusion Committee to promote the values and practices of a diverse and inclusive workplace. |

Human resources |
The Board has dedicated one-half of a full-time equivalent position to GBA+. During the reporting period, the Board will continue to allocate temporary resources to develop its capacity in GBA+. |
Planned initiatives |
During the reporting period, the Board will continue to promote the values and practices of a diverse and inclusive workplace. Employees will be encouraged to complete GBA+ training in order to enhance the responsiveness, effectiveness and outcomes of Board initiatives. The Board will participate in the Veterans Affairs Canada GBA+ network which has the goal of raising awareness and disseminating tools and best practices. It will continue to take into consideration lessons learned and best practices from other federal government organizations and contribute to the Board’s capacity to learn about, apply and report on the organization’s GBA+ activities. As more work is done on GBA+ within VRAB, the level of analysis and monitoring will become more robust to ensure that gender and diversity are considered within its program, policies and in its delivery. |
